Trail RidesClayton Station offers a 5 day trail ride adventure, based on a 10 person group of people interested in living a bit of the outback life.
The views are amazing as landscapes vary from tree enclosed creeks to desert lands with rocky hills overlooking various scenery. Sleep in your own swag and eat traditional campfire foods. Take a relaxing dip in an artesian spa or enjoy a hot shower or bath straight from the artesian bore.
Clayton Station is a working cattle station and you will be invited to help drive some cattle along the way. You may even see kangaroos, dingos, emus, brolgas and more wildlife. Live the land and learn the way of the outback.
The horses will be happy to guide you the way. Come join us! Trail rides run through the cooler season About the Station Clayton Station is a well known pastoral property situated on the southern end of the famous Birdsville Track in outback South Australia. The Station is approximately 1000 square miles of a variety of land and soil types.
The Eastern side of the property, where the original “Walers” (from the colony New South Wales) were bred, has good limestone and gibber country, ideal for building strong bones and feet. The station is a registered Waler Horse Stud and Clayton horses have come down cleanly through the generations from the original remount breeding lines.
“The Clayton” is renowned for its breeding of quality Beef Cattle. Our motto is to breed quality instead of quantity – drawing on a long heritage of cattle hardened by the challenging Clayton environment. Clayton also provides an oasis-like public camping ground that breaks the arduous trek along the Birdsville Track. |
